TESTAMONIALS We used Regatta Pro Start equipment for all of the events leading up to, and including, the 2007 Louis Vuitton Cup and the 32nd Americas Cup. When we were gearing up for the events back in the Spring of 2004, friends of mine at the Storm Trysail Club told me about the “horn system” that they had used so successfully at their previous Block Island Race Week. I got in touch with Pete Capitain of Pro Start and the rest just fell into place. It was that easy………… The system worked perfectly for us during the 3 ˝ years of this past Americas Cup cycle. We never had a problem with it, nor did it ever demonstrate any reasons for us to question its reliability or accuracy. While we used it primarily for match racing, we also used it for fleet racing for the Cup Boats as well as a 12 Meter event that we conducted in June of 2007. It was extremely easy to program for fleet or match racing sequences and it can do dinghy starts as well. It can be programmed to accommodate any changes that you might want to make to any starting procedures that are needed. It’s simple, portable and, most importantly, totally reliable. If anyone is contemplating a “hands – off” starting system, I’d say that the Pro Start System is the way to go. Peter Reggio Principal Race Officer for the 32nd Americas Cup-Valencia
